A Neogi deathspider, "Kishs K Spah!! ,"All Mine!!", slaver spelljammer landed in the Stormshield foothills. It has a cloaking device on board and it managed to slip past the COTM by using two decoy Githyanki Frigates from Darkspace. To ensure they avoided detection the deathspider captain ordered the ship to race to the planet at maximum speed, then brake as late as possible. The manoeuvre, difficult at the best of times, was hampered by a fierce blizzard raging over their passenger’s chosen landing site. The crew, aided by their captain's magic, almost pulled it off, but at a crucial moment in the insanely fast touchdown a braking sail yardarm snapped and a spider leg landing brace sheared off. The deathspider crashed into deep snow between the arms of a small hill. The crystal body lay cracked but whole, the legs however were scattered about the white snow. The painful scar of the ships passage trailed behind the ship for a few hundred yards. The Githyanki passengers leapt free of the impact, tucked, rolled and came up running before they disappeared into the hills. Shortly afterwards the helmsman woke and reported that they had stolen the helms tuning gem. The captain's plans for stranding his passengers had hit a snag.
The Neogi, a horribly evil and greedy race set to collecting some local resources. The highest priority being weak willed sentient humanoids. Humans would do. Once enough labour was available the ship could be fixed and hidden. Then perhaps a mine or Athrú-forbid, a trading post. Better yet a small war.
Currently the Neogi have completely enslaved a nearby village and have instigated a breeding program. Neogi, Hulk and Humanoid...
The settlement had just opened a quarry and the Neogi captain saw no reason not to continue this operation, especially with Umber Hulk help. He installed himself in the village in the guise of a half-elven wizard. This would explain any unusual powers at the mine.
The town was renamed Crashmine. The main tavern was also renamed The Hairy Snake.
Crashmine is four days north east of Ozkellthorpe.
Some invaders are disguised as guests at the Inn, some are in the locality gathering slaves, others are trying to get the tuning gem back, the rest are back on their downed ship trying to repair it.
The Ship originally had 10 Neogi and 10 Umber Hulks as crew.
Crash site
Many of the slaves were taken to the crash site and the death toll there is rising.
A 15-foot-high stockade fence surrounds the isolated mining hamlet of Baphen Crossing. Two 20-foot-high towers flank the gate and serve as the barracks for the town’s militia. The towers contain storerooms, living quarters, a small jail, and a training room.
Crashmine’s largest building is a tavern and inn called The Wolfspider. Operated by Janus Antonicus, the wooden building has an extensive tap room and 10 rooms available for rent. The food is simple and of reasonable quality and the taproom is always busy at night primarily with miners. Spending some coin and asking the right questions reveals the background information on Crashmine. They claim that the mine's name changed in honour of people who died in a mining accident. The Wolfspider used to be called Laughing Jack’s but it was recently changes by Janus. No one knows why.
